Holly is a lecturer in Primary Education at the ²ÝÁñÉçÇøµØÖ·, teaching across the PGCE and BA Primary Initial Teacher Education programmes, with a focus on Mathematics, Science, and ‘Developing Self’.
Before joining the university in January 2023, Holly worked in a wide range of educational settings, including mainstream and special schools across ²ÝÁñÉçÇøµØÖ·shire, Coventry, and Warwickshire. Her experience spans both primary and secondary phases, covering urban, rural, and specialist provisions. Trained to teach across the full primary age range, she has supported learners from Key Stage One through to Key Stage Four, including pupils with diverse needs and backgrounds.
In her school-based roles, Holly focused on improving life outcomes for hard-to-reach learners and held leadership positions such as Curriculum Lead and Internal Quality Assurer. She also mentored both experienced and early career teachers.
At the ²ÝÁñÉçÇøµØÖ·, Holly serves as the Undergraduate Year 2 Primary Education Cohort Lead and the Personal Academic Tutor Lead for the Institute of Education. She is committed to promoting student voice and supporting holistic student experiences, creating inclusive and empowering environments for students.
In addition to her teaching and leadership responsibilities, Holly is a Personal and Academic Tutor and School Experience Mentor, contributing to both undergraduate and postgraduate teacher training programmes. Her approach is grounded in inclusive, trauma-informed practice and a strong awareness of neurodiversity, with an emphasis on reflective learning, wellbeing, and preparing future educators to thrive in diverse and dynamic classroom settings.
